Work in Progress Wednesday: 8/6

Hello all!
I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the act that it's already August. Where did summer go? (Though, the temperatures here in Texas are letting me know that summer has no plans of leaving any time soon.)

This is the first August since I started kindergarten at the age of four that I haven't been doing some sort of back-to-school shopping. It's a relief to not have to spend money on school supplies and textbooks I'm only about 45% sure I'll even use, but it's still a really odd feeling. I get a wave of nostalgia every time I pass the seasonal section in Target. Maybe I'll buy myself a new notebook or some Sharpies just for fun.

This week I've been really focused on trying to get the wedding invitations finished up and out the door, as well as taking plenty of pictures of the process for a tutorial coming up soon (I promise!). Here's a little sneak peak! Intrigued? I hope so.

I also recently started packing my fiance's lunches for work. I've been scouring the internet for different finger foods various lunch box fillers that I can make for him. This has lead to hours of staring at gorgeous dishes on foodgawker and trying to decide if they could be anywhere near as tasty if I simplified the recipe and cut back on ingredients. I've been posting a lot of my findings on PInterest, so please take a look at these boards the next time you need some inspiration while meal planning! For lunch time or dinner ideas, check out Grown Up Lunch Box, or What's For Dinner? If you're looking for something to appease your sweet tooth, Sweet Treats is the board for you. And last but not least, for those of you looking inspiration from some gorgeous looking dishes, Feast Your Eyes is full of them.

What projects are you working on this week?

Until next week, and as always:
With love,
Julia Rose
